The Sustainability Policy must be understood as a set of broad guidelines, to carry out all activities in absolute respect for the highest values. Our ambition is to promote prosperity, quality, create social, environmental, and economic change and improve the capabilities of people and organizations.
Aware of the need to respect this principle, PortasSVicente is committed to adopting policies in the areas of social responsibility, quality, purchasing, environmental and food safety.
We are aware that this is an evolutionary and contributory process, so we rely on the collaboration of our employees, suppliers, and business partners to continually improve our procedures.

Carry out an eco-efficient management to minimize the environmental impacts arising from our activities and services, prevent pollution and make a rational use of natural resources, reducing as much as possible the effects of pollution on the environment, thus contributing to the growth of the economy, to improve the quality of the environment and society, for the benefit of present and future generations.
In accordance with the current legislation in the Environment, PortaSVicente assumes the following commitments:
a) Regularly assess the environmental impacts and comply with current standards applicable to Sustainable Tourism, promoting the continuous improvement of its processes.
b) Ensure proper management of natural resources and waste.
c) Prevent pollution.
d) Cooperate and promote communication with external entities, environmental associations, local authorities, and the public.
e) Engage customers, employees, local community, and suppliers in order to encourage the improvement of environmental performance in all its activities, products and services.
f) Promote environmental awareness and training programs among its employees to train and make them aware of sustainable tourism practices, fostering personal and professional growth, aiming at better working, health, and safety conditions.
g) Encourage local development with the participation of surrounding communities, suppliers, and service providers, promoting economic, social and cultural growth in the region.
h) In order to ensure our commitment, PortasSVicente began a process of continuous improvement, with a view to achieving an ideal of environmental performance.
Social Responsibility Policy
PortasSVicente considers it their duty to act in a socially responsible manner towards our guests and employees, as well as the local community and the environment.
Through our social commitment, we deny any negative impact on the community and the environment, directly contributing to the quality of our apartments.
Our commitment to the well-being of the community is reflected in the creation of several partnerships with local institutions, supporting them in the dissemination and organization of their activities, as well as in raising donations.
We carry out initiatives that allow interaction between local associations and employees, so that there is a sharing and exchange of knowledge and experiences and community support.
Continuous learning and education are promoted in the various professional areas and within the company, through training actions and awareness-raising initiatives.
We promote Responsible and Sustainable Tourism, actively participating in the cultural, social, and sporting promotion of the community in which we operate, sponsoring events of great interest in this area.
Our policy for hiring employees is aimed at the local community and aims at its economic and social promotion, always with the aim of giving the greatest importance to interpersonal relationships within our work team and this with its guests.
About donations and charity, it is common practice to donate materials and goods to local social institutions. Donations in monetary value have been encouraged among our guests.
Purchasing Policy
The purchasing policy is oriented towards regional products, to promote the development of the regional economy and to save the environment over long and different transport processes.
Aware of its role in the regional market, we seek to manage a balance between development and social responsibility, environmental preservation, and economic prosperity. The principles and commitments that we assume daily in our purchasing policies reflect our respect for suppliers, employees and customers, allowing for even greater confidence in our company.
Our approach to the market:
a) Purchasing responsibly - We maintain a supplier selection process based on strict and demanding criteria, considering the fundamental principle of sustainability.
b) Regular survey of relevant suppliers to establish common goals with a view to greater sustainability (product, packaging, transport and others).
c) Support regional suppliers - Other things being equal, we give preference to regional suppliers.
d) We contribute to the economic growth of the region, avoiding the transport of goods from distant places, which in turn favours environmental preservation.
e) Respect for the environment - We look for suppliers that respect the environment and put national and international standards into practice in this field.
f) Preference for reusables, we always have reusable and recycled goods available. Suppliers and products are regularly subject to analysis according to the 80/20 principle (quantity, environmental impact, and relevance).
g) Promote healthy eating through suggestions aimed at the local consumption of organic products, grown locally.
We believe that, even with these small contributions, we can help implement global ecological changes with effects on the future and on humanity: energy savings, more efficient waste management, protection of biodiversity and improvements in consumption habits.
